Not For You
A Poem Written 07/07/2006

Conjecture right befuddled, as emotions stay all muddled in a pool of drama sustained by my pen. It drips along for hours, spews black liquid tasting sour to the ones who dare to read the words aloud. I am a man, embittered, damned. Not a lover, not a savior, not a pet nor slave for labor, not for you. Never again for you. Depress my tongue with yours, hon, and tell me I am dreadful, but the truth remains your tongue is laced with lies. Skirt the issues with your silence, your own kind of childish science. Run your tests to prove my heart rules over mind. I am a man, led by the hand of the pretty piper lulled by music sweet and cyphered to my death by way of fickle, feckless ruse. I am a man. Embittered, damned. Not a lover or a savior, not a pet nor slave for labor, not for you. Never again for you.

“Depress my tongue with yours, hon,
and tell me I am dreadful” what a line! It wouldn’t let me restack it which ticks me off it deserves to be seen more!
Hope you're doing way better twenty years on, Dave. But you beautifully translated your feelings back in 2006, it must be said.
